I am looking at making one , anyone made this, or something similar.
Get new amp next week, so it's time to get jammin with Magic Dick!!![]()
Keep it clean
That was good Cassa!! Why are they all "old" guys??
Yeah , he is pretty cool , old , just a figure of speech![]()
I was kinda hoping someone might have made this type of mike before or something similar, oh well no such luck , just have to plug on and make it
.
ive got a beta 52a on my desk that's gone a bit deaf. it might work for this if you've got big hands?
why bother making one when you can buy them for under $100.
any vintage electro voice or shure hi Z mic will get you what you want.
or use an additional matching transformer and try any normal mic. sm57 or ev635a plugged into a matching transformer to get it to instrument level sounds pretty sweet.
yep that works at the mic's output, but i think the main problem is the diaphragm or plates rattling/deforming as not designed for being so close to the extra loud sound source.
a few pairs of winter socks over the capsule might do the trick ![]()
A friend uses a little square mic that came with a vintage Grundig reel-to-reel tape machine.
Plays it through a tiny Vox AC4 amp cranked, mic'd up into the PA.
Sounds great.
