Little discussed subject, yet relevent to so very many issues in life.

Can be applied to many topics of discussion, and, in my opinion, closely linked to the "emotion" of embarressment.

It can be a driver for change for the better, or a destructive influence leading to depression.

What are the fundamentals behind the use of words to bring the best outcome for the recipient?

Correct use of the language used by the deliverer of the words and the receiver of the words having a comprehensive understanding of the language used by the deliverer of the words.

That is an answer to your question.

My question is:- What are you banging on about??

Cisco, I think it is a shame that you can be so helpful and insightful on such a huge range of topics but when it comes to the op you haven't elucidated a better reply. Perhaps next time show more pride in your wordsmithing and give the op your frank and inciteful understanding.

If only I was smart enough ( and rich ) I would hire Cisco to translate my ideas into his beautiful words.

But I am afraid he could only say :

"unworkable, sorry, translation impossible .."

And that is the real shame.

I mean shame on both fronts because:

a) world could learn good ideas/concepts

b) some other people may enjoy the peomatic translation made without even getting into details or trying to understanding it.

Cisco,

Quite a valid comment, which causes me to take more care in composing my posts. Beneficial for me. You have successfully shamed me to the point where I have determined to take more care about my grammar.

Surely beneficial for me, yet the post in itself may engender embarressment for those less able to convey their thoughts, who might have a lesser handle on english.

You have made a point on one score, but there are many others, both positive and negative.

I appreciate your post, as I think you understand where I am coming from.

Agreed RockyDude,

I am embarrassed because I can't quite get a grasp on what the subject matter is. Also my English handle is ....lesser.
Cisco's understanding of where you are coming from is frustrating as well because I can't get a ...... handle....on it. (you see I'm repeating the same words here,
and I can't help it)

It's been a bad day for me.

That is a shaming resulting in a positive effect despite shaming being a generally negative act. One can hope that thou art not the only one shamed into a similar determination as thee hast embarked upon.

(I am not entirely sure of the old time grammar there but it is fun anyway. )

Lol!

I thought you would of pickt up on my misteak regarding my referense to gramma when my misteak was actually punctuation in this instance and your latest post has given me renewed determinashion to correct my defishiencies with this also.

Thou hast an extrordinarily entertaining posture on word usage, and I would beseech thee to continue upon the path, wherein thou hast demonstrated thine ability.
