Karma, I reckon is bullsh1t.
It's about luck and being unlucky. It's also about accepting that when you are unlucky and quickly moving on. It's taken me decades to come to my newfound enlightenment.

So........
you are saying remery is just "unlucky" for still being banned ?
Nothing to do with karma for his unwarranted and incessant abuse of others ?
Pretty controversial view there, myscreenname.

Correct,
Remery was unlucky, he has to accept that. Rather than continually pressing 'refresh' on this thread, wanting to contribute and attempt to tell us what really happened. Remery, will eventually work it out. Acceptance of his bad luck is the key.
Look at FN! He accepted that he doesn't have an ocean view and lives a few streets back from the Beach. That's unlucky, but he accepts his dire situation and makes the best of it, by re-watching re-runs of the Walking Dead TV series.
Look at Mark_Australia, he was 10 minutes too late in a real estate deal and found himself in a real pickle, but he accepted that and now chases remery's ex girlfriends. Maybe he will get lucky.
Look at Cammd! He was unlucky because he sided with the wrong side of history
But rather than accept it he chose to pretend he's enjoying life on his yacht, while his transsexuals son refuses to pick up a football.
FFS, look at your own life! You got in on the ground floor to get into Bitcoin. But you were unlucky and chose acceptance and now walk around with rocks In your shoes, while honing your skills of finding small details of random people's lives on a dying 30 year old watersports forum.
None of it is Karma, it's bullsh1t.
So are you saying luck is totally random ?
But surely the probability of luck can be changed by the actions that you take, or don't take ?
If I were to just buy and sell bitcoin randomly I may be lucky and make a few dollars, I maybe unlucky and loose a few. But if I were to study the market and decide when to buy and sell I'd have more chance of being lucky.
Could a change in luck-probability driven by actions that have been considered and taken not be viewed as having some element of karma associated ?
Or do you see that karma must be absolute, where it can only exist if 100% of the outcome can only be attributed to karma from a preceding event ?
I feel to correctly fact-check your claim "karma is bullsh?t" you first need to define what you understand karma to be.
Are we all just unlucky that when Laurie turned down bjw's offer to modernise Seabreeze.com.au's website, that bjw used the time instead to modernise the bom.gov.au website ?
Or is it karma ? A famous person once said will one day say 'there is no fate but that which we make'.
Presumably bom (sorry, The Bureau - cough, cough, flogs) has done Loz a solid with more folks coming back here to see what is happening with the weather.

Laurie, BJW and the hundreds of thousands of hourly seabreeze users were very unlucky the day that Laurie decided he didn't need to bother responding to BJW's generous offer to update the seabreeze website with new emojis and functionality.
You do know Laurie was very lucky, as his kids already had their private schooling education funded and he decided he didn't need the hassle of having to communicate with BJW.
It wasn't karma why we all suffer dealing with an outdated dying forum, with limited functionality and not enough emojis - it was unlucky.
I accept that.
(BJW was lucky to get the BOM and ABC website gigs - his kids private schooling fees are secured and any future gender reassignment is covered.)
Hypothetically, if the annals of history had actually reported that bjw did indeed once modernise seabreeze.com.au, would we now have the ability to better explain our contrary arguments via the utilisation of a karma emoji ?

bjw would be lucky to find a karma emoji

So, if I fully understand myscreename's hypothesis then:
Subsonic was unlucky to buy a Panasonic TV that broke down, and should just accept it and move on
DavMen was lucky to buy a Sony TV that was replaced when it broke down
Clarrie67 should have accepted what happened 7-8 years ago either way and should have moved on long ago
Mark_oz should not have purchased an LG 'Karma' model TV, which famously has terrible controls on the remote, but he did and he should also just accept it and move on
There is no doubt that Mark_Australia has been unlucky. First when he was 10 minutes too late with that real estate deal, then with Remery's ex girlfriend, his problems with Chinese customs holding his goods, and now with the lag of the cursor on his TV.
Explain how this is Karma? What did he ever do to deserve this? He comes across as a happy-go-lucky type of guy who has just had a run of incredibly bad luck.
We have no idea what happened in his past lives.
(and it's possible past, is assuming a linear passage of time.
And souls? are locked into earth time.
Space time is a continuum, it's just an assumption that souls? can't come from anywhere in that continuum, past present, future of inter galactic)

Being born in Burundi is unlucky. Here's a video that attempts to explain luck; I'm lucky!

I'm lucky too.
Let me explain what happened today.
I found all this discarded rope and netting and got an idea to re-decorate a small outdoor area: think Lobster Cave (circa 1985)
Got the netting, rope, some festoon lights and a whole lot of 'boho coastal' decorations, my fishing stuff all in place and decided I should go all out.
So I start looking on Temu for stuff. I ended up getting six different items, plastic crabs, shells and stuff - I spent about $100. Anyway, when about to exit, the app offers me a free spin. I press stop at just the right time and get 6 (six) free items. It offers me another spin and it gave me all these points. Effing awesome!
To get free postage on the six free items, I had to spend another $20. So I bought these beautiful stickers that you put on your bins. Which is bound to put a smile on my garbage collectors face (see below).
So for $120 I got 13 fantastic products - seven of which I didn't even think I needed.
How could anyone say that's karma, it's just pure good luck.
It's even lucky for the c(!)nts in China who work in the factories moulding the boho plastic crabs, shells and sh1t, as my $120AUD is empowering them to escape poverty.

I feel lucky. if you're on Centrelink you are in the top 10% of the world's rich.
half the worlds population is on a few bucks a day
Oh yeah, and that chick you keep talking about, mmm ![]()
I'm lucky too.
Why do you need so many bins ? Is it to put all your plastic Temu crap in once it arrives ?
Gonna be karma if your 13 deliveries get held up at Chinese customs and put in the queue behind Mark_Oz's cloth.
......... Oh and are those bin stickers typically indicative of the quality bjw was aiming for in modernised Seabreeze emojis ?
'cause if it is I am beginning to think we were lucky Laurie turned him down.
The general English translation of Karma (Sanskrit) or Kamma (Pali) is 'action'.
Once the translation is applied, many sentences people say using the word karma start to look silly.
"Action, I reckon is bullsh1t."
"None of it is action, it's bullsh1t."
Karma is a pretty simple concept, if you do good/wholesome/skillfull actions you increase the probability of getting favourable results or vice versa by doing the opposite.
Hence why Buffet is stinking rich, he kept making skillfull karma (highly researched and timely purchases of undervalued stocks and companies) over a lifetime.
I feel lucky. if you're on Centrelink you are in the top 10% of the world's rich.
half the worlds population is on a few bucks a day

I was thinking about what decrepit said that you could be paying the price now from your past life.
That's a lot of bad luck you have had. For all we know you could be Pol Pot, John Wayne Gacy or Josef Mengele in your past life, which would explain why your products were held up in customs and your TVs lagging cursor.
don't think so, one starts with an l and the other starts with an f
On that premise myscreenname is totally wrong.
Karma isn't luck, because it starts with a k.
Then again, it is possible to visit a Fortune Teller but I have never heard of a Luck Teller, so your conclusion may well be right, even if the reasoning is questionable.
Are luck and fortune the same
Yes. Getting lucky costs a fortune. Been to a decent trendy pub lately.?
Wow-ser.
No wonder Laurie doesn't want to employ BJW to update the Seabreeze.com.au website.
$96M would put a noticeable dent in Laurie-junior's college fund.
For 2 1/4 weather websites you can build a race track, an amphitheater, a hospitality venue and a multi-function centre in the middle of the most expensive city to build anything in mainland Australia.
For 12 weather websites you can get a 30,000 seat roofed multi-use sports stadium constructed the middle of the most expensive city to build anything in all of Australia.
For 4 1/2 weather websites you could get an 1,800 passenger ferry suitable to cross some of the roughest seas in the world.

I was wondering why BJW doesn't comment any more. Must be too busy living the caviar and champagne lifestyle. Lucky C**t.
I was walking down the street today, it was windy and there was a mini tornado forming in a corner with some trash. That's where I found twenty bucks.
No way that was karma.
I was lucky to find it and the person who lost it was unlucky.
I was walking down the street today......
Come-on MSN, you can level with us here. No reason to keep secrets.. ...
You got an invite to the PM's wedding didn't you. It was more a case of "I was walking down the street today on my way to the lodge when....."
No doubt you went to celebrate such great luck.
The luck the let a hard-left bourgeoise hating socialist become the centralist right PM of the Commonwealth and marry a capitalist banker child of the old establishment in the lodge.
Or was it karma for all those promises made on the way... or maybe just age delivering wisdom that has cancelled out the ignorant enthusiasm of youth ?
Congratulations for the luck that has come to both of you. One a bitcoin millionaire grubbing about the gutter for $20 and the other a socialist selling his soul for the comfort of middle age.
As the great Kylie once said "I should be so lucky, Lucky, lucky, lucky"
I'm lucky too. Let me explain what happened today. I found all this discarded rope ...
OK myscreenname.
I have just had a very, very quick perusal of the recently released 'harrowing' photos of Epstein Island.
Whilst they were quite disturbing to view (one had some furniture in a bathroom, if you believe), the first thing that I noticed (although I do admit it was only a quick perusal of a few published pictures) was that there did not appear to be any 1985 Lobster Cave inspired outdoor areas, or anything resembling the decor that may be associated with a cartoon sticker attached to rubbish bins and the like.
In fact, it didn't look like any of the interior or outdoor styling had been based on old discarded rope and cheap plastic items purchased via Temu.
Are you sure that your re-modernised living spaces are really keeping up with the latest trends ? I am starting to wonder if your style is somewhat of a, if I might be as bold to say, an 'outlier' fashion-wise.
Have you considered engaging the services of an architect to assist with your re-build ? I believe there used to be a nationally awarded architect on these very forums, may be you could chase him down ? Although he may have specialised more in high rise buildings than outdoor living areas ?
