Hello,
I just purchased by first SUP board and the only measurement I was worried about was weight (would it hold me). I've attempted to go out two days in a row and I haven't been able to successfully stand up and go. I'm fine on my knees, but standing up isn't working right now. The board is 11 ft tall and 30 inches wide. It's inflatable. I'm thinking I may have a board that is too narrow for me, but I've also tried to get the board to 15 PSI and am thinking I may need to fill it up more. Does anyone have any tips for me? Any ideas on what the issue may be? (I'm 5'11 and 285, so I'm a big guy, but the board says it can handle up to 329.).
Thank you
^^ +1
But width is your friend. Most people learn on around 32-34" wide, but it is possible on yours. Just persist and go out when it is dead flat (like under 5kn wind and no swell)
Rail shape and tuck makes a difference too, I think many inflatables have too much tuck - but balance that with lots of volume at the rails so I dunno maybe they are same as real boards....
As above, check out the sup forum. But also, it could be your stance. dont put your feet too close to the rails of the board. Stand as you would naturally. ![]()
Yeah!! Boats are better things to own than paddle boards.
You can sleep on them and have phucks among other things.
285 kg and 5.11 ??? U need a boat!!!

...and the .AU at the end means those people can go and get bent!

Some people still use imperial measurements as well, guessing around one hundred and thirty pies ![]()
reckon subs is on the money, need to look at it more like walking the plank than trying to stand on a door, mind you after all of those pies you could be a little top heavy as well
Hey Guys, Patino has taken our advice and posted on the sup forum, so I guess he won't be checking the wisdom posted here.
