Hi,
As I am new here an introduction:
45 years old and a lurker for quite a while now, so I thought it was about time to introduce myself.
Started with Standup Paddle when it was pretty much non existent in the Netherlands, got my first board from *board but at 12'2 and 26" it wasn't love at first sight, too difficult but windsurfed like a dream. had to get my paddle from california as there where none available over here (thanks Wardog!) and trying to make it work...
Life happened, wife, autistic daughter, but always the sea.... as they both like that. Have a Whopper to go paddling with them and teach them some windsurfing..... and a Hero for surfing
Got a windsurfing mate of mine into the sport and that's great.....
I'm a bit rusty and never had a video of me on a sup, but here it is.... not so much about SUP as the conditions weren't that fantastic, but hey: you deal what whit what you get.... A friend since 33 years, a seal very curious at 5 meters all the time (not in video) and smiles all around :-)
I tried SUP once and man-oh-man was it ever boring. Felt like having to balance on a ball while ruining an otherwise nice experience. Why aren't I using a kayak???
...and then I watched your video. You have the bug.
It's that whole "free ride" thing that includes surfing, gliding, skateboarding, sailing, yada-yada... all the "sports" that don't require a team or organisation or competition and in one way or another utilise nature for a "free ride" and have you becoming one with it. The hobbies that end up becoming a lifestyle.
So if you're enjoying yourself, and you so, so obviously are, and if you've found that place in space and time where you connect to ...something, then welcome to the club where a moment can last forever.
Thank god you didn't choose kite surfing.
