West salmon.

I bought the cheaper Home Brand variety and she only ate half the portion, then later after she realised that was all there was on offer ate most of the other half.

At two dollars for a small tin on special it makes sense to buy John West salmon over cat food anyway- which is ground up left overs

Cats love seafood, and most cats are especially fond of canned tuna and tuna juice. While tuna is fine for cats in moderation or as a treat, too much canned tuna can be bad for your cat. Fish is a great source of protein, but there are a few reasons why a steady diet of human-grade canned tuna can cause health problems for your cat.
Tuna alone is not nutritionally complete, and many cats are allergic to fish. Most fish contain trace amounts of mercury, and the higher up on the food chain a fish is, the more mercury is accumulated in the fish. Tuna is relatively high on the food chain and therefore contains higher amounts of mercury than other fish, leading to an increased risk of mercury poisoning. Tuna is also high in unsaturated fats.
While it is healthy for humans to choose unsaturated fats in their diet, too much can be bad for cats. Consuming too much tuna can cause your cat to develop a Vitamin E deficiency, leading to an inflammation of the fatty tissue, a condition known as steatitis (“yellow fat disease”).
Cats that consume large amounts of red tuna in particular are more prone to this painful condition. Commercial canned “tuna” cat foods are not just straight tuna, but have other added ingredients, vitamins and minerals as well as the amino acid taurine, which is essential to cats.
Just make sure to feed your cat a high-quality pet food formulated for cats, and if you choose to feed your cat human-grade canned tuna, limit it to an occasional treat.

Well too much of the same thing will always be bad I guess.

Have a cple of feline mates, they are well fed but they always come to check what the hoomans are having as it smells better!
I also cat proofed my back yard and they can't go on expeditions around the neighborhood. Was a hard mission as they kept finding escape routes just to test my patience .
I feed them bikies and wet food.

must be either ruddy big cats, or do you run the bikies through the mincer first?

Our ruddy cat refuses to have anything to do with fish, or icky bits, or fancy food.
Must be either chicken or turkey.
Presentation has to be correct - within the dogs vision, but out of dogs reach.

Only biscuits she will permit, are kangaroo - I suspect because they are the dogs favourite
[mind you - ANYTHING remotely resembling "edible" can be regarded as the dogs favourite]

Cat also demands the correct [most expensive of course] lavender scented kitty litter crystal stuff - which has to be raked smooth before she uses it.
Then the offending evil mess must be removed from her tray or she cracks the sads.

Another year or so and her pelt should be juuuuust right..............

^^^^What ever i can run over on the road!^^^
Mine like the crystal litter as well or my wife flower beds in the back yard.(poo scented roses)
They look at me picking the shiiit out of the litter wondering: why is my hooman steeling my poo!
After pooping must scratch in the litter box for at least 5 min but make sure that the poop is uncovered so it stinks the whole laundry!

A bit of lead behind the ear is what most cats require

Too much tinned tuna made my pussy smell of fish all the time. I try to give it a more varied diet.
