Incremental changes are the easiest. If you take 1 piece of rubbish out your car every time you get out, and put away 1 piece of clutter every time you walk through your house, before you know it there's a massive difference to your environment. Small steps add up.
I walk into the shed and decide "all the tools on this bench go away now. just this bench".

Do if for yourself! One thing at a time... The more you do the happier you are... Just gotta get the ball rolling...
If I'm flat out busy, I'm all good because I can't afford to loose a second ... It's when I'm not under the pump I procrastinate something shocking, and I hate it. ![]()
Take a break, no noise, controlled breathing and after relaxing - start to plan something that needs doing in your mind from scratch to completion. Think outside the box on how to complete the task...and keep it positive.
I recently had the opportunity to go to a conference (in Hobart) that was focused on motivating volunteers and emergency service persons. The speakers were from the top of their field in their organisations in Aus and I walked away with a new lease of life. I've never been to one before and have never put much stock in such events but this was exceptional. The biggest motivator for me was networking with other like-minded people like myself, so try to get into a discussion with a few people and 'smash-out' some ideas.
When I have to do something and I'm not feeling particularly motivated about there's a couple of things I usually do, one is break it down into smaller stages the other is to imagine how good it's going to be or going to feel once I've done it. Like if I go for a five km run and I'm having a bit of a flat day and struggling a bit, I might run easy for 500m then push on a bit, then run easy again so it feels not so hard or just picture in my head how it'll feel good once I'm done, I'm using running as an example but you can apply it to pretty much any task.
