Went to a movie with the misses last night, one of these smaller theatres that has comfy seats and also sells meals you can take in to the movie.
Had a couple sitting next to me that kept turning on the torch on the phone to look at the plate.
Bloody annoying when you are trying to watch the screen, and you have this light flashing on and off beside you.
Told them it was annoying, and would they stop doing it , but they just kept on.
I finally went out and got a staff member, who came and asked them to keep the phone off, but they were most put out, complaining that they couldn't see the food.
Am I just getting too old and grumpy? Messages are shown before the movie, asking people to turn off their phones.
Any thoughts?

You did well . I hate being close to popcorn eaters rattling around in the box or the guy who spends the whole movie dipping into a noisy lolly bag. Just kills it for me.
Here's another one, parents who bring young kids to inappropriate movies.

^^^agree!!

the rustling packets crap me... I don't understand the culture of smashing so much junk in a movie that the packets are louder than the film!

It's really distracting!

Went to see one of the saw movies when it came out. This couple had their not long born child in there. Poor kid spent the first 20 min on and off wailing with all the on screen screaming, before someone suggested rather loudly they should take the kid out of the cinema for everyones sake.

some people just really dont think. It might have seemed like a good idea at the time. But any reasonable and considerate person wouldve taken the baby straight out once the crying started, or better still, not taken the baby in there at all.

Went to gold class cinema in kuta last year.
It had been raining for a week and I'd been wearing the same clothes and these old disgusting Sanuk sandals everywhere.

Twenty minutes into the movie,
Stretched out in full recline like you do.
The indo kid in front of me with his hot date, gets up and leaves.
5 mins later he's back.
Couple mins after that two ushers walk in and spray me with glenn 20.
The whole time of been there watching this bag of crap "final fantasy whatever whatever"
I was thinking, the only thing that stinks more than this movie is me..
Turns out
I was right

I love sitting and waiting for the start of a movie and watching people come in carrying more food than I eat in a week. One couple even had theirs in a cardboard box as they had so much.
I suppose some people can't go the length of a movie without starvation setting in!
...no idea why Australia has an obesity epidemic.

I just don't see the point of 'gold'class' cinema. Pay more so you can watch the movie on a smaller screen while listening to people eat their dinner? I can do that at home any night of the week for free.

Went to see Roger Waters (Pink Floyd for those who don't know), was amazed at the constant procession of people going out for food and booze during the concert...

Maybe the platinum class will be sitting at a table to eat a meal while watching a movie.

I can't be bothered going to the movies anymore as most of them are crap.

Not sure why people go to cinemas at all... it's a major hassle
- gotta put up with crowds and waiting
- bad smells
- rubbish everywhere and dirty seats
- food noise
- mobile phones
- people bringing in screaming babies or kids into cinemas
- audio is **** most of the time - vocals too soft in relation to sound effects
- if you hate the movie, you feel bad leaving early coz u just paid premium $$
- you can't pause if you need to take a pi$$
With large TVs these days, you can have way better and more comfy experience watching at home...

some years ago, an annoying kid in the seat behind me kept kicking my seat, I asked him a couple of times to please cut it out and got a mouthful in return.

Next time, I ripped the reebok's off his feet and hurled them in different directions.
kid stopped kicking, moaned a bit then slunk away to search for his shoes - and didn't come back.

I expect the same procedure would work with I-phones.
