I am considering buying a Samsung smartphone from Kogan.
1. What experiences have others had?
2. Any issues with mobile phones eg Australian compatibility, SIM cards etc?
3. Are these mobiles as good as any from Telstra, Optus etc?
4. Kogan prices are much less but is the risk worth it?
5. Any other advice or where to get smart mobiles at lower prices without risk?
Thanks

No info on phone. I did however get a sim from them, as they often have very good data deals.... about 2-3 weeks after getting the sim I started getting spam telephone calls several times a day even though that number was only used for surfing internet (had phone with 2 sim places). The email I used for Kogan (and only Kogan) also got spammed shortly after I opened it. Might not have been Kogan's fault but the Optus sim I have had for years never has this issue. Seems a little suspicious to me. I let the sim number expire ....
Did buy an Optus phone online.. DON'T ! It was dead on arrival and trying to get them to replace it was a nightmare...well actually impossible. They just run you around endlessly on the phone and/or say go to an Optus store who of course don't want to know you as they don't get reimbursed by Optus Online and of course don't want to give you one of their phones for the dead one Optus Online gave you. Then I tried the online Chinese phone. Was nice for 3 months then failed to charge. Sealed phone with non-removable battery. People I bought it from don't answer emails , their refund ticket page is just for show.
No, best to get one from a big store. Any issues they just change it. Often they regularly have half price specials, and not just superseded phones. Often Telstra and Optus are still charging 2x the price for the same phone.

Brought a tv and surround sound system. The sound is so poor, very tinnie. Claimed features like Bluetooth never worked. For a shed it's ok but I could have done alot better for 500.
The TV was even worse, lasted about two years with very little use. One thing which was really obvious was when I was bringing in the new Samsung it wheighed twice as much.
So only two products and both were beyond crap. I know they are not phones but an idea of the quality that Kogan is happy to put its name to.
There are so many better Chinese brands on the market now hyo.... something etc.

I've got a few electronics and appliances were all brand names and no probs as far as buying online, like all other online dealings though as soon as you buy something you will get inundated with spam offers but did the unsubscibe and have not had any since.

I've bought a few things, from iPads, to toys, think a phone too. Never had a problem. One item a no name bluetooth speaker was slightly faulty got a full refund, excellent speaker quality with lots of approval from workplace mates.
