Hey all,
Heading to Cairns to for gig for six weeks Nov to mid Dec and wondering if anyone knows of Kitesurfing lessons for an old salt to undertake while I'm up there? I understand that most of the wind is just about done and dusted by then and everyone goes to the west but I if ya dont ask then you dont know?
its not just dusted. shes GONE but you have chris at yorkeys knobb and jimi/bretto at snort douglas also some jumpstarts at palm cove havent met them but some say they are the best.
good luck with the irukanji and crocodiles ;) my advice would be to just hit up the cairns cable ski or dice the lot and just go to a bush doof plenty of cidu up there
Cheers for the tips matey, I thought as much. Living as far south as I do (island off the base of tas) had to ask the question anyway.
At least climate will be right and cable skiing sounds like an option. (or the esplanade for 'observaton' )

Hi Mate. I live in Cairns and I can assure you, the Cable Ski park is great fun, but it's NOTHING like kite surfing. The only similarities are the fact that you're holding onto a bar and being pulled by a cable, just like skiing behind a boat (sort of).
Like mentioned, see Chris at KiteBoardingCairns.com.au and ask them for advice mate. Or WindSwell up at Port Douglas. Both are very good schools and shops as well. Very friendly and you'll get a good deal with lessons and equipment as a package.
