I was doing some work in Parliament house when Kirner was the Premier......about 1990. I saw Kirner and we struck up a conversation about Footy, the party etc. I thought, what a nice woman.
About a year later I had to go back to Parliament and do some more work. Walking up the front steps of the building I saw Kirner surrounded by TV crews interviewers and lights. In mid sentence, she glanced me about 50 meters away. Mid interview she raced over, asked me how I and Loglady were going and to rub in the fact that her Footy team had thrashed mine at the weekend. we had a chat and she returned to her interview without missing a beat.
RIP Joan......a real person.

Judging by the amount of negative fun poked at her because of her girth, it is no wonder that girls are desperate to be skinny. Isn't it strange that it was Jeff Kennet who ran the negative campaign and won. Now he is all over the shop about Beyond Blue.
