When you privatise the prison system there is motivation to recruit more inmates.

The homeless should only go to jail for doing a crime not for being poor.

a lot would probly want to go, free meals, free accommodation, safer than sleeping in a alley, can get education while in there. Better than starving on the street ?

Crime especially bank robbery is on the rise in Japan by elderly people who can no longer afford to look after themselves. As soon as they are released they go and rob another bank and straight back home to their warm bed and prison food.
Very sad when society cannot look after those in need when so many have so much. I watched Bill Gates on Netflix try his best to change the world but maybe his focus should be on the homeless in his own country.

worth googling the "American gulag"

The system rapes the natural world at an unsustainable rate
the poor go into indentured labour
the middle classes into debt based servitude
the rich accrue all the profits
