Half the names are made up, while the other half are real. He's trying to make a point about how stupid some of our place names are, but we don't notice because we are used to them.
The Cockstars B&S is always a good night, specially when the folks from Goonery, Goonie and Gooney Creek rock up 
Perth has a couple too, "innaloo", "upper Swan" and the best one I've ever heard; "COCKBURN"!
