Have an idea to make a children's app but have no clue how to do it.
Searched google and found a few sites that help you make the app, just worried the idea will be pulled from the site. Also they don't appear to have the control I am after.
I searched the interweb to see if it has been done and some things close'ish but not it, or associated with what I am after.
Anyone here that could help or direct me where to go would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
I have outsourced an app development. PM me with any of your questions and I will see what help I can be.
If your app is to run on android devices, look into the capabilities of "app inventor". This is a joint development of Google and MIT. It's quite robust, and well supported with online books and user forums.
You'll need a Gmail account for development. You develop on a PC, and run an emulator to test the app. Ultimately, you load the app onto the android via USB cable.
Start small. Create a very simple prototype interface, and write one or two event handlers to test your concepts.
PM me if you need further help.
You'll find software development both frustrating and rewarding. Just like windsurfing and kitesurfing. ![]()

I've been programming every day for twenty years (****!). Multiple languages, platforms, databases, frameworks, big clients etc. etc. yada yada
I have never found anything as hard as developing a ****ing app. And from what I've read it is even harder for Android! (which is exactly why iOS versions are always released first)
XCode is like a cross between a normal IDE, where you work in code only, and something like 3D Studio Max, where there are buttons and layers and tabs and hieroglyphics and such all over the place. And that makes it, for me, fuuuucking confusing. Give me the code! The combination of the two makes it harder, not easier. Do I write code here, or do I go all click and draggy? No idea.
I found it a very steep learning curve and frankly would never suggest it as a language/environment to learn in. I would recommend VB, Ruby, Python or whatever, but you ain't gonna write an app in those.
