Hi Guys,
As you know i have been active in the past to progress our sport and one of those things is the weather and wave information of the port that has been publicly available since 2006 or so due to my negotiations with the Port of Geraldton. The seabreeze site uses this information to give you the offshore winds.
Now there is another weather station at the Point that can hook in with the seabreeze site and would only take 20 minutes to add.
So I am trying to put some speed to this process as the weather station has been ready for almost 6 monthsr now i believe.
So who would enjoy to get live weather data on the seabreeze site as soon as possible to help with boating fishing and all other watersports? How more replies how better so please voice your opinion!
Cheers
I think it is a great idea as if the port one is offline / damaged etc (as happened a few times in the last 6-12mths) having another coastal one would be very helpful. The "Geraldton" one at the airport is too far inland.
Who owns this new weather station?
Its me in budgie smugglers with one wet finger up in the air.
Results uploaded every 2mins.
I'm keen for that data.
How do we get the data ? Web service, FTP flat file from public server ?
Got any specs or is that too techy
anyhow +1 from me
It's not far off being online .. my understanding is it only got stablised a few weeks ago, not 6 months ago ...
Given the geraldton port one ("Geraldton Offshore") has had 3 major screw ups in the last year, including showing 40kn northerly for about 5 days, I reckon the other could quite easily be stable in comparison ![]()

Now we have you thinking about this Laurie - can you please fix the swell graphs ? It used to be JUST swell and now it adds the wind chop. We have been seeing 2-3m swell on seabreeze for months and in reality getting 0.5 -1.2m
