Someone more knowledgable can confirm or not but a quick search didn't turn up anywhere to buy them online in Australia, further given they are referred to as flare pistols I suspect they fall into the category of a firearm, which means significant importing conditions and firearm licensing requirements.

that is a very shady first post,
normally there would be a reason stated on why you may require one?

What they said...

Hand held pyrotechnic and laser flares are easy to get hold of - why do you think you need a launched one?

I think that you will find that this is a catagory H weapon in Aus. Need some licences, and business with a legitimate reason, etc. Thank the lefties for the hoops that you will have to jump through to get one of these, if you will at all be able to purchase one legally.

I wonder why Mr 1st post hasn't tried marine stores and/or asked legality at his State's police firearms branch....?

ditto....

and as far as I know, here in W.A. you do not need a license to USE a "rescue device" like a flare gun, line thrower or conventional flares.

However - flare guns and line throwers most likely require to be licensed by the owner.

Either contact your state police - or google your state firearms regulations.
