I've tried watching this series on foxtel, but you need to be pretty desperate for some sailing to follow it. They're great boats but the only thing extreme is the stupidly tight course. Also the editing of this series (as with many of the other sailing shows) lets it down too. Very quick cuts of action with no real chance to take in the actual sailing followed with a long slow shot of the skipper talking.

Hope it's better live as there's lots of potential. The America's cup was great and they managed to still include a 'grand stand' on a pretty normal course.

We went down to Sydney today to watch it and had a blast. It seems that the public has not really learnt of it yet with hardly anyone around - I suppose it is almost xmas. Incredible to watch - you are so close - you can hear them on board. The crowd was really getting into it and cheering them on - helped along by some good work by the commentary team. Some impressive work by the teams - very tight racing - surprised there was not more damage done to the boats. It was a shame that the wind backed off - but at least the rain stayed away. Here are a couple of shots I took.
