One of my dearly loved but still a challenge children young adult is moving out of a shared house and the agent said fix it...
It is a laminated kitchen bench top..
I hope there is a repair option.. Anyone know what the options are?
Thanks

put a cloth on it then hot iron ....heat it up then push on with cork block and hold down as best you can until cool . it may work .... fill with epoxy ...sand carefully .... use texta colour to match ........ you might have a win ? 50 50 !!
or heat gently with a hair drier and try and inject some model glue underneath the tear - then push down, scrape off excess glue and tape down hard with painter's tape and leave for 24hrs. Might need to touch up with white crayon or white maker. Should be passable. Would be keen to see the result.
I did a similar repair using a product called Liquid Laminate. It's a colour match paint/filler. It worked ok.
Smooth the edges of the tear to to make a groove to fill. Glue the torn bit down. Fill the groove with Liquid Laminate.
Heat will re- bond it I use a heat paint gun when I want to speed up the process on laminating with contact adhesives, get a syringe and add a clear 2 pack to the surrounding edge, take your time
little by little, do not sand, buff it out, when back to original test a fine line marker and dot in species to suit original
we did this method on curved laminated counter tops
but they'll know where to look if they're fussy
counter tops are a pain to replace only when hot plates / sinks are present
I thank you one and all... ![]()

Cauncy - I reckon U R on the money.. a recent house party...
I do not think either mine or any of the others would be upto the DIY...
As a family batting average 1 of 3 of my kids would nail this independently. He kites too![]()
SO have asked for this to be punted back to the agent for a suggestion - if they have an adequate DIY then should be OK
.. I had these visions of a complete bench replacement - with bond gone insurance claim and rental reference gone to ... mungo...
Hope this one goes as well as my repairs on trailing edge of foil -
"original like bone china = Carbon (minus) fibre resin on this section.. grrrrr"
Cheers
