Anyone else see the "Your windows registry requires repair" popping up here ? I was using an iPad when it popped up twice. How do they get on here ? J

Yep has happened quite a few times and I'm on a Mac too.
Does Seabreeze know what sort of device you are viewing from?
I doubt it , if they did , they wouldn't be telling me my windows registry is in need of repair .
I get ads for vans from Carsales or for my stupid ISP when using IE. I don't mind because I like white vans and I'm already with my ISP even though they are stupid and I want to leave them.
Im not sure how they do the ads on SB but generally they are related to or from websites you've been visiting. eg. looked up laptops yesterday and im getting heaps of ads from lenovo and msi.
yeah, Ive noticed a few that look like they would instantly infect my 0s and 1s should I be daft enough to click on said advertisements. Laurie, maybe you can take back some control here, Im all for Seabreeze making a tone of cash through advertisements, but surely they must meet a minimum standard?
generally the website /cookie monitoring etc tends to be handled externally of the host site and the host site just embeds some dynamic code into the page that's been given to them by the external marketing mob. It's cheap and easy but you are relying on the quality control of someone else. i'm guessing that's what is happening at seabreeze?
I can't read half the stuff on the page when viewing seabreeze at work because the bluecoat filter blocks it, even though most of it looks safe-for-work when viewing it at home. It's likely that at some point in time the external ad / marketers must have let some level of "pron like" info slip through and now their IP's and domains have been blacklisted. I enjoy reading sb and checking the forecasts from work, but i think it too will eventually get blocked if the sus ads continue
Hey all,
So sorry for these bogus adverts getting through - as Haircut suggests, some of the adverts are through a 3rd party and some wonky ones sneak through, but they are removed pretty swiftly (i.e. within hours)
If you see any suspect adverts, you're more than welcome to ping me the details for investigation.
I use the site all the time, and, just like you, don't want to be shown rubbish/scams!![]()
i can't wait till date-a-granny comes around again ![]()
Me too, I really should have saved that one to favourites

There are three grannies in my area that want to go surfing.

Bit far for me to travel for some of that action, but don't let that hold you back Panda ![]()
