Straight up I hate vegans, not because of the fact they don't eat animals, just because the majority fall into the stereotype mould all too easy.

So I cant believe with everything that's happening that one muppet/puppet hasn't popped their head up, jumped on the soapbox and said "we told you so" Look you ate an animal, inturn you have released a new disease which is spreading like wildfire and killing thousands.. "We told you so" Whole countries in lockdown, economy grinding to a halt,, all because some duckhead ate a bat. "We warned you"

Just show how intelligent the majority are,.. they have been gifted a golden bullet and yet they too busy trying to rescue one chicken from a battery.

Idiots!

I think you are confusing vegans who choose to eat a healthy diet with animal rights activists. I am a vegan who chose to go vegan for health reasons as most vegans that I know did it for the same reason. I have been vegan for three years and no longer take heart medicine and in fact I take no tablets at all ,my weight, blood pressure and cholesterol have dropped dramatically and at nearly 72 I am still surfing and paddling.
Yet for some strange reason, you hate me. Very sad.

This is what, the third or fourth time those filthy markets have let out some noxious disease. Boycott China and keep the borders closed to them until they knock that **** on the head.

Why are they even eating that stuff? Should the great communist utopia be providing all their beef and chicken needs? /sarcasm

People hate because it makes them feel superior, a totally unwarranted but none the less real boost to the ego.
People that hate also tend to have lower IQ, lower EQs and are generally poorer, less educated and much more averse to change.
Is also the reason why "hate politics" is so successful, people vote for what makes them feel good and at least 50% of the population are below median intelligence, so what makes me feel good isn't necessarily rational.
Vegans, gays, feminists etc... and the like are usually in the upper quartile demographically which makes them ideal targets.

The reasoning is in fact not at all strange. The more people you can tell about your irrational predjudice the better it makes you feel.

I will be completely honest, I know only 3 vegetarians and one "vegan", the vegetarians choose not to eat meat for personal and/or perceived health benefits associated with their chosen diet and indeed I commend their choice.

The "vegan" (a niece) and could have been the model of the satirical stereotype that many associate with the 'vegan' movement. She is loud, opinionated, unbending and unwilling to accept any alternative to her chosen lifestyle. She is a member of and regularly contributes to social media platforms extolling her choice, she is often venomous and abusive/toxic in her comments and I feel that this is the kind of person that brings discredit to the cause, and creates the feelings of dislike, distrust and in some cases hatred amongst non-adherents. To put it bluntly, she is no different to any other 'radicalised' member of any other politically, religiously or self interested motivated group. I don't "hate" her (she is blood) but I don't agree with or choose to associate with her or her circle of friends.

I was in Melbourne a year ago when the "Vegan Protest" caused chaos and shut down the city centre by parking and abandoning hired vans at major intersections, laying across tram lines, disobeying lawful directions issued by police and generally harassing anyone and everyone who didn't agree with them. I had caught the train from Essendon to the city, got off at Flinders street and lobbed up right into the centre of the chaos. What they did that day alienated themselves from the moderates and set their cause backwards from which they struggle to recover, the niece however see's it as a great moral victory.

"rockmagnet" I admire your willpower to stick with it and the associated health benefits you have achieved through diet and lifestyle changes when medication was failing you is a big plus. Bravo. Although a vegan diet has proven beneficial to you I don't think it would suit everyone.

But when a dirty, rabid, anti social rabble (and this is IMO an accurate description of those who sought to occupy Melbourne 12 months ago) feel it is their divine right to get in my face and demand that I follow their rules, they've lost me, but I cant say that I hate them.

Everytime i went into the supermarkets while there was a meat shortage last few weeks I always got a chuckle from the always fully stocked vegan meals section.

So thank you vegans.

I tried it for about 3-4 months and didn't lose weight and didn't really feel any different. Think I may have upped the carbs too much to compensate. how long did it take to start losing weight ?

That's incorrect. The median is at exactly 50%. It makes no sense to claim that at least 50% is below the median. If more than 50% lies one side or the other, it's not the median

Actually the weight loss was very gradual over a couple of years but the real weight loss started when I went to 16/8 eating plan. I only eat between 11am and 7 pm. Also be aware that a lot of food that can be classified as vegan can also be junk food. Plant based should be as much unprocessed as possible. Fruit ,veg , legumes are the go.
Even though the scales initially did not show a lot of weight loss ,losing hidden visceral fat was certainly changing my body shape. I don't know what the science is on that but the keg was slowly disappearing to show my hidden 6 pack .

Eskimo/Inuit live on a diet of near-100% meat or fish, mostly with a high fat content. They're pretty healthy.

Hundreds of millions of Indians live on a vegetarian diet. They're pretty healthy.

I suspect that whatever your choice, the key is to avoid processed food, junk food, sweets, fizzy sugary drinks.

Eskimo or Inuit in rural life living on fish and blubber did not live long. They died a fair bit younger mainly from heart disease.

I've been fasting regularly for a while now and the increased level of energy and alertness is quite profound.

I believe that in years to come Yoshinori Ohsumi's work on autophagy will be recognized as the most important advancement in human health in years to come.

To the detriment of the food industry!
