Burning your house down should get rid of them no worries worked for me.
But seriously it all depends on the construction you want to protect. A cheap way would be to put traps in you can inspect google termite trap.

100 mm pvc pipe with cap on top
approx 600 long
run these around property fill with corrugated cardboard
inspect , and bait
or dig trench around house
wrap cotton waste around retic pipe, have filling point elevated to fill pipe with treatment, good barrier, termites love heat n moisture

Get some Fortune 500 from a local produce store. Dilute it accordingly and spray or wet down areas that you think need controlling. You can dig a 300mm deep trench around the perimeter of a building and pour it in also.

This stuff is the strongest chemical available without needing a pest control license..... That I know of.

Best ive come up with is buy "Termidor" online, use online as per instructions fully suited up with mask.
U need hose setup with pump and large volume tank.
7 year life on product but is $400 for 2.5ltr. Same product as many licensed pest control companies use. Does make 400ltr from memory which u need for a large house. (check online use as to why)
If in doubt dont use it as u have to not play around with this stuff.
check online for use guid lines.
can buy online like i did without license.
have seen lots of natural type ideas used, none were any good long term

Are you talking about a house on piers or a slab?

I'd always worry about a house on a slab...every slab cracks, and how do you ever really know what is going on? At least with piers you can check the ant-caps regularly and have some peace of mind that nothing is going on.

I never spray, but inspect under the house every 6 months and makes sure there is nothing bridging the ant caps or damp course.

I us fortune 500 as hd stated great product. When applying make sure family goes out for the day away for 6-8 hours open all windows doors keep residence well ventilated until they come home.found the best thing to use is safety glasses, nitrile gloves, disposable white coveralls ,and spray paint mask with old cloths. Use disposable spray pump pack. After application keep the mask and throw the rest including your cloths in the bin. Usually apply it in shed perimeters (high and low) house perimeters and patio as chemical barrier. Watch out for falling spiders haha good luck!

Termites are soft bodied, if you are building from scratch and don't like the idea of icky chemicals, do what one of the ultra-greenie-hippie families did in my old town.
They put a layer of lime under the entire slab, foundation, and verandahs of the [rather quaintly dodgy] mud brick / rammed earth / untreated bush timber and recycled stuff home that they built.

Everyone was horrified, and laughed at them [well - not so much me as I sold them umpteen pallet loads of builders lime and an awful lot of cement] and I had an idea his theory about termites v lime made sense

The whole district has a horrific termite problem.
Everyone else spends big on chem's that do stuff all apart from empty wallets, and often spending bigger on termite repairs.

Except for them...... near enough to 30 years of no chem's - and no trace of termites.

Dont disturb the movement of the little dudes . ring an expert and get them sprayed , they will then carry the poison back to the rest of their mates.
if you disturb their movement they will **** of and use a different track , and you will lose the opertunity to get their mates .
