Americans do create now Space Force.
Australia is spending 50 bln dollars chasing imaginary enemies with submarines and battleships. But we have real enemy attacking us every year mercilessly.
The bushfire is so predictable that you could almost bet that will affect Australia land every year.I imagine that Australia, Land of the fire could create the most sophisticated in the world Fire Force.
If we could spend this 50 bln wasted on sea coffins that will never see any real action on an army of helicopters, scooping planes, train army of firefighters.
That could be also our best export product. Offer firefighting services to California, Canada, and any other nation may be affected by serious bushfires.

PROBLEM !
The australian environment requires fire to ecologically operate !
Australian native seeds often require fire to start germinatiion, with many Eucalypti it requiresi in a lab to boil water and leave the seeds in it for one minute then take them out and plant them !
Fire also controls a range of noxious creatures such as ticks particularly the paralysis tick and scorpions.
In actual fact it requires fire at least every five to ten years to "sustain" native forest ecologies or some noxious native creatures overpopulate and start to reach into wherever they can live as range.

Australian flora has evolved how it is because Aboriginals fire stick farm. If we were some how able to stop setting fire to the country, nature would eventually balance itself given enough time. I think Eucalyptus family is a **** of a tree. Stinky, scabby looking. Messy in summer. Provides faaark all shade. Roots go under the roads causing bumps. Everybody slips on the gum nuts. I would be more than happy for this species to go extinct.

Macro: Bureaucratises suck money from the economy. So the less then better IMO. I think our existing forces can cover this one.
