Well you can wave the big stick (polly pipe) around and threaten the cattle, but some times you just have to start hitting them to get them up the ramp. Maybe the Corona Virus is what the first world needed to work out their priorities. Once everyone one gets over the hysteria of potentially getting sick and then changes their social habits to co-exist with our new found partner on the planet, life will continue. And now that the realisation that sport, takeaway food and various other forms of entertainment are not the backbone of our existence on the plant, people may have enough money to put a deposit down on a house.
If you had of told someone six months ago that toilet paper was going to be the most important thing on their shopping list, they would of laughed at you, Or if you argued that the NRL and AFL were going to shut up shop in 6 months time for the foreseeable future, they would have locked you up in the looney bin.
All of a sudden the most important thing now for 1000's of people, besides staying healthy, is praying there will soon be a Covid19 vaccine readily available or finding a job that is rooted in the "essential for life" industry and not the "Nice to have Industry".
Yes Yes, I know, it's nice to go out for a meal once in a while but some people have it the other way around.
There really needs to be a rethink regarding selling Australian farms, primary and secondary industries to foreign countries (in the name of "Foreign Investment") or not supporting them when droughts or other financial difficulties occur, to ensure we have can self sustain when the $hit hits the fan, so we always have a good supply of toilet paper and mince. (Lets also not forget the beer - perish the thought)
The earths climate is certainly going to benefit from less planes burning up more fuel while flying climate activist to important meetings, less vehicles on the road, etc
Oh bugger, that's right, humans (conveniently) have a very short memory. They'll get the vaccine on the street in the near future and we'll go back to our mission of wold destruction while finding someone else to blame.
