hello everybody,

I am planning to go for a week to Cocos in July 2017 - not just by myself for a week of kiting and maybe some snorkelling.
Accommodation is painfully expensive and mostly offered as twin rooms. I was wondering if there is a friendly soul with same desire to go and same interest in reducing cost of accommodation - we could share the cost and would probably be enough to cover food expenses for a week.

please contact me if interested and I can share more details on priv email.

Also - would anybody be kind enough and suggest some 'cheap' (~100AUD) single room/bed accommodation?

Thanks

MK

Very limited options for accommodation on Cocos, 4 or 5 options from memory. I'd contact Jen or one of the staff at Zephyr as even if not going for one of their packages they might be able to point you in the right direction for alternate accomodation?

From memory you used to be able to camp at a couple of spots, Scout Park I think, can't remember & maybe Direction Island.
Scout Park is nice but the mozzies would kill you and there's very little water on Direction Island.

You could say you just arrived from Sri lanka and you will get free accommodation for a week at the Quarantine Station, they even chuck in meals and someone to hang around with, then a free trip to Sri lanka with the whole plane to yourself
