Its that time again were they make picking up rubbish a well published event. Yes most people pick up rubbish all year round but why not use the day to help promote a clean Australia.

If people see you picking it up, they'll be less likely to discard there rubbish next time. Thats my idea anyway. So why not jump onto the page and find a clean up near you, or if your North Perth feel free to join me at my local

Sadly yes some of the art work is mine

Good on ya JB... but to be honest this is the first I have heard about it - and I'm not sure that holding it on a long weekend is the best date for gaining maximum participation.

Thanks for the promotion.

It's furkling disgusting in my eyes how you can litter such a great country,
This is a picture I took in a world heritage area just last month,
Sadly it was everywhere , and hand on heart I've never met a euro on these spots in the 11 years I've travelled here
So none of the blame the euro touro,
I've had plenty of run ins with litterers on my local beach and surrounds, all have been aussies

Thanks guys. This year we only picked up about a quarter of what we got last year, so maybe the message is sinking in.. Its often the fishermen TBH and with the new fence there hasn't been as many their so, maybe that was part of the problem.

Ciggy buts though, OMG they are just the scourge and absolutely everywhere.

I had lots of positive comments form people.
One lady asked what i had down to deserve a community work order

One guy complained that the council should be putting sand up on the path not us (I had a heap of sand moved up onto the path with buckets to cover a few rocks that you kick your toes on)

Another local asked me to talk to the council to install dog poo bags as he is sick of having to supply his own

And best of all a lady complained and wanted me to make a formal complaint about the Noise the shower makes as its wakes her up early mornings

All in all it was a fantastic morning and we had heaps of support from local families..

Haha my wife also just told me she was asked "What was the catch limit for Abalone" ?

She says she is never standing around wearing a yellow safety vest again

This is a small subset of the filth I was cleaning up today.

Such a disgrace how some people treat the bush...

Yeah im guessing your rubbish didn't all fit into bags

A good mate and a member in here is sailing around the Caribbean currently and he sails and lands on beaches that have maybe never seen man and the first thing his family is presented with is rubbish

Lol - We are going to need a bigger bag.

There wasn't even a good place on the official form to record car bodies as collected garbage. Number of condoms yes, cars no...

Also a fishermans clean up should be done on our surrounding coast,
The volume of ropes floats ,bait lids, bait cages, bait box straps( still) is disgusting,
They make a high profit from our oceans, so it's not a lot to ask maybe 2 days a year
I receive a fine of $250 per piece of rubbish on a building site,

too true, fishermen are the worst, they just take take take and give nothing back, although this is just how it seems,

There used to be just a spot like that at Mt Kembla when I was a kid. For some reason, probably because its isolated, people used to dump stolen cars there all the time.

Its probably the same at the place in your photo.
