Wondering about people's experience with camping hot water for showers, gas heated. I want it for an outdoor shower in a corner of the back yard, any good / bad experiences, types to avoid etc.?

I have an ebay version of this, before Jaycar were selling them:

Combined with a 12v pressure pump from Bunnings, it worked fine. I can't say I have used it much apart from the initial testing though.

Black plastic "solar showers" work surprisingly well and are very inexpensive. Could easily DIY.

I struggled with the same idea for a few years. In the end I got a tradie to come out and plumb up direct from the mains (from memory it wasn't that expensive). Don't regret that move as it minimised any issues with the camp style ones and needing gas bottles. This is now the most used shower in/out of the house.

Aparently that gas bottle lasts about 2 hours.
