Wanting to purchase a beach launch-able tiller steer plate boat but there are so many fake plate boats on the market.
Soooo i thought I would ask the smart and experienced seabreezers !
Wanting to go outside fishing in reasonable weather ( no one likes it out there when its rough) but also go up rivers.
Been looking at a tabs jumbo but cant find any second hand and im not really wanting to buy new as it will be used and abused !!
Are you looking at custom built, or production?
I've had both and the difference is significant, especially with pricing.
Tell us how much you want to spend.......
Quintrex hornet , with an Evo hull,
Yamaha 50 on the arse
Not my boat, my mates a pro fishing guide
Dirk Hartog
Wilderness
One tree beach
True north
We do some big crossings , offshore, creeks , flats , etc etc,
Mines a glass boat center console
Same size, prefer mine in the chop and as a safety option,
Mine has a lot less draught due to being a cat and full foam fill, better in creeks but due to weight has it's disadvantages

you mean millenium hull. stacer has the evo hull. and neither of these are plate.
not the best but reasonably cheap you could try formosa.
I dont really like plate boats. you can still go outside in a pressed tinny when its calm. they are much lighter and cheaper.
or if more of your wrk is offshore glass can do it all. hooker , wahoo , haines etc
plate boats often made by welders not boaters. shallow v, short, wide high volume, expensive. Not a lot of ride advantage. If its painted you still have to worry about knocks. not that good a ride.
quintrex or stacer will certainly do whaat you are asking and be easy to sell later
Boats are such a personal preference thing. Everyone has their own requirements and we don't know nearly enough to help you choose.
This came up after a quick search....http://www.boatsales.com.au/boats-for-sale/private/used/SSE-AD-3759895/2006-Sea-Jay-535-Magnum?cr=40&psq=%28BoatAll%3Dkeyword[sea%20jay]%26%28%28%28%28SiloType%3D[Demo%20and%20near%20new%20boats]|SiloType%3D[Dealer%20new%20boats]%29|SiloType%3D[Dealer%20used%20boats]%29|SiloType%3D[Private%20used%20boats]%29%26Service%3D[Boatsales]%29%29&pso=30&pss=Premium

Premium price for premium build quality and resale.
There is no doubt your money is safer with a production built boat. A handful of custom plate boat builders have folded recently with customers left paying tens of thousands yet no boat in the driveway. There are a few custom built plate boats on the second hand market - keep checking gumtree.
You say you like Tabs Boats.....there are several for sale on boatsales.com.au - just be careful because some of them are underpowered. This is a common trick dealers play to get the package price down. I like the Tabs hull though.
Have fun shopping!!!
Jeez, 17.5k doesn't really buy much in the boat world! Pretty basic tinny and engine thats 10 years old... Certainly not the economy to be selling toys either.
Wonder how long these boats take to sell?
bought a Tabs 4.6m tiller steer with 50hp 4 stroke for the boss as another tender all 2009, beautiful strong hull and a dry boat, paid $16000 for it, after two months converted to a centre console with bimini and hyd steering, sweet for dabbing now!!
