Well some things in life are still free.
Went down to Wanneroo Showgrounds tonight to take a look at the 120 odd competitors for this years Australian Safari, that kicks off out of Geraldton on Sunday.
Entry was "FREE" , yes folks FREE bloody entry to the showground and the vehicle compound with drivers and support staff manning each vehicle, two wheel quads, buggies and fourB's to answer all questions.

Should anybody be keen to monitor the event, there is a face book page I believe.
Keep an eye on competitor # 250, a Polaras buggy, driven by Jim Cairns (wheel chair bound) and his good mate Rex Baker.
Cainsy last entered this event many years back on a powered up motor bike. He was unfortunately involved in a nasty accident, resulting in a broken back and from then on wheel chair bound. Hasn't held the bastard back though. Still drives like a bat out of hell.
Rex also a bit of a Kamikaze driver, so they bloody suit each other. Rex had to adapt to the steering wheel full control system that Cainsy uses.
Event is about 6 hours per day with as six day event taking in Midwest to Murchison to Exmouth and finishing back at Kalbarri.
Believe this will be last one in WA due to rout restrictions

Cairns and Rex's page is "against the grain" They have Rex's young bloke completing a daily update and from what I recall, on that against the grain page is a GPS tracker link, but need to scroll down a bit to see it, just below the introduction of Jim and Rex by race organizers tonight..
