So this young unemployed Aussie chick flies to Colombia on her own, for a week on a "working holiday", stashes 18 heavily wrapped plastic packages in her suitcase and tries to fly home only to be busted at the airport with $1m worth of coke.
Sounds like a B grade movie script that is so obviously suss it doesn't seem real. Is there something we are not being told? Is anyone really that stupid?
CT Nutters?
I was ready to believe she'd been sucked in by the "friend" who said he wanted her to take some headphones in a box story I heard on the radio. But after seeing the photo of her with 18 plastic packages I figured she'd either never felt the weight of a headphone, or, well, she came up with that excuse under pressure and could've done with a bit more time and imagination. Or maybe she let him pack the headphones for her...
I'ms thinking that during initial interrogation she had a finger in her blond hair twisting it around, fumbling for an excuses and thinking this isn't going the way my new boyfriend said it would! OMG, I wonder if I'll make TV!
All too sad ....no matter the motivation and no matter what the plan her life is RS...hope all of the people involved get to share the outcome...![]()

It's a shame such a waste of good Colombian cocaine!
Don't worry, it wont be wasted. Some corrupt official will ensure it will end over here in someone else's bag.

Surely it's cheaper to post it in small packages over a period of time.!
Definitely cheaper but a good business model involves diversification :)
As far as this one goes, proof that you can never over-estimate how stupid people can be. They walk amongst us every day. Scary! ![]()
I always think I'm going to get slugged excess baggage and most of the time I'm a couple kg down from the 22kg mark.
I would be worried if I had to add 5 to 6 kilos of headphones that would be rather painful but maybe not so bad if I tested one of the packages first!
such a terrible thing for her family !!! sad !
and the big organised importers get a way with tons of the crap
such a terrible thing for her family !!! sad !
Don't be so compassionate, think of it more as natural selection.

I feel sorry for her parents and family. Despite the crowdfunding someone started someone in her family will probably take a second mortgage out on their house to fund her legal defence. A defence that has no prospect at all of getting her off.
I just hope her her parents don't actually believe that she had no idea the drugs were there. Geez, the news tonight are saying the US DEA tipped off the Columbian Police. Which means the arrest was intelligence driven days before she was stopped at the airport.
This always reminds me of the quote:
"I can't believe how dumb the the "average" person is. Till I remember that half the population is dumber!"

yep story doesn't stack up, 15 earphones that weigh 6kg?
They were for her bridle party, I've seen pictures all have really big ears and a habit.
seriously, if she pleads guilty 4yrs. Given potentially 25 if she fights. Give it up do her a favour no crowd fund the advice is one way traffic.
What engaged chick befriends a strange man in a foreign country for a week? If she's innocent which I doubt it's because she was rooting him and trusted him.

A longer period of time = a longer period of exposure.
Beats by Pablo Escobar...
serious people "feel sorry" for her really???
she did it she flew there doesn't work and now there is crowd funding...
hey I've just been caught trying to smuggle 5kg of coke back can you guys the public help me out, I was going to slug you all 4-800 bucks for a gram and make 3.5 million bucks.
yeah sure love no worries
mr bigs I reckon 3.5 million bucks is pretty clear it's not for personal use.....
you our know why cars and houses get broken into all the time it's so people like this get a free ride.
too bad so sad do your four years learn some Spanish
i cant ant believe people are crowd funding this ****..
crowd fund her now and when your own kids develop a raging coke habit and steal from you and other people at least you did the right thing.
poor girl she's about to get married sweet little thing help her out hahahahaha
peanuts......
I think the crowd-funding thing died out pretty quickly once it became apparent that her "I was set up" story is absurd.
Classic case of a get rich quick drug mule wannabe gone wrong.
She will be glad if they lock her for only 4 years and kick here but out back to Australia soon after that.
Back here a promising career, join the next biggest loser version (ex international drug traffickers with quite a few competitors fitting the profile around), some shoots for a bogan nude mag/website after losing the bulge and interviews to bogan talk shows.
Australians seem to have a fixation for their fellows committing crimes overseas and complaining of foul play after getting caught.
No compassion from myself for international drug traffickers and their stupid mules.
She just made Shappell Corby look like a high-class professional dealer.
She surely takes out the most stupidest move of the century
A rather sad situation for her parents. Saddled with problems of such nature, and being so far away, would be bloody nightmare.
Can't judge her as we don't know the details. However, I do have a lot to say about Strayans and drug addicts:
"Get off the f-king crap !"
We condemn the supply side, but I strongly believe the demand side often gets off lightly. Ohh...It is a sickness. I can't help it. My friend introduced me to it. How about taking responsibility for your own self. You take the stuff and get hooked on it, you own up to it.
Drugs created many problems in our society. I took my house pump for repair, and I asked the technician why he doesn't have an apprentice to help with simple repairs. Apparently he did have one until the young apprentice got into drugs. Many stories I know of when young and promising lives were ruined by drug addiction.
Get off the f-king crap, for your own sake and others around you. You bloody idiot !

At least she wasn't caught taking it into Columbia ![]()

Sorry to hear about your house pump Jupiter.

Just off on a tangent, after reading 'snowing in Bali', taking marijuana into Bali seems more believable than not. The book suggests that there is a huge market there, and that bringing in it makes sense.
It changed my opinion on whether Schapelle was most likely innocent or not.
On the other hand it does seem to be a stop-off point for cocaine from south america to Aus.
At least these two turkeys got pinged in Australia rather than the middle east. Morons.
