What a great album!! The year was 1972 and life was good. No cares, no responsibility and no clue....oh yes!
I'd just left school but had worn out all the tracks on Aqualung the year before so Thick As A Brick was my new favourite. Still got both albums on vinyl, defying the 'roaches attempts to nibble them.
To my ear, Tull lost their way a bit after this pinnacle ( different pharmaceuticals?) until Too Old to Rock And Roll, Too Young To Die later in the 70's.

One of the greats......back in The Day.

Got it , still have Songs From The Wood and The Broadsword And The Beast on vinyl. On a completely different note, coming home from a big road trip up north with my daughters in this past week, I played Gerry Rafferty's City To City cd. My eldest daughter liked it so much she googled him. It was a bit of a shock when she asked me if I knew he was dead . He was only 64, I think she said he died in 2011.
