Hi, we are keen to instal an air compressor on our sail boat (a 12m Seawind catamaran) to fill dive tanks. Just looking for any recommendations or advice people might have. At this stage we are considering small Bauer or Coltri but there are different power options.
Thanks for any input.
Cheers

I can't comment on the Coltri but I have extensively used electric and diesel powered Bauers' in the Navy to refill BA and Dive cylinders and found them reliable and rather simple to use, the only issue was ensuring the inlet was kept away from the exhaust (we used to hang it on a pole at breathing level of the operator) and cooling the dive cylinders during "rapid filling".

I don't recall any incident that made a Bauer unserviceable in over 20 years although caution has to be used crank starting the diesel as it does have a tendency to kick (and occasionally run backwards) and that can be quite painful to the inexperienced, an electric start solves this.

My opinion Bauer is a good, robust, reliable piece of kit.

*I am NOT AFFILIATED in any way with Bauer except having been a regular user for >20 years.
