This one has been doing my head in for years. I think that's the best page I've read yet on the difference. It has had a large effect on me. My thinking on it has even been affected.

For a group of contributors to this forum who seem to regard themselves as educated and au fait with what is going on in the world it is atrocious to see the lack of mastery of the English language that is more often than not presented on this forum.

Wise up people!! We are supposed to be the smart country.

What our journalists write in our news papers is a bad advertisement for Australia.

English is the hardest language in the world.

I recently studied Greek and I found the lettering system, the phonetics and the way to spell out words sooo much easier. The only difficulty was knowing what the words meant!
