Hey all,
I am developing an app with a few people that focuses on surfing (and a few other sports), travel and meeting new people, but I really want to get my local community involved before we dive in too far.
So the basis of the app is to select an adventure sport from the list and then find people in your area that are interested in meeting up to do that sport with you. Are there any special features you would want to see included in such a thing?
Cheers.
Amigo
I assume nearby users will be able to contact each other through the App?
Will users have a profile, like age/sport/ability/gender?
Could be difficult but a link to Wannasurf somehow to see nearby spots on a map?
Hey Amigo, you know the reason I surf and windsurf? Because I can do it on my own! That's right I don't need to organise others to participate with, I can go when I want, (that means when I can fit it in). An App FFS to go for a surf. Sad.
So I note the original poster has not come back. Retort?
Or is this yet another uni project where one seeks free advice to help one pass with minimal effort?
BTW free advice forthcoming
"app" is short for application. MS Word is an app. So is MS Paint. Now it has lost its coolness - you will not make $100000000 from an "app" just by calling it an "app" and telling everyone it is good. You must identify a need, then make a solution.
The trouble here, is we have no NEED to find everyone on the planet who may want to go for a wind/kite/conventionalsurf at Jones' Beach NSW at 0736hrs Sunday 24th May 2018
Nor do we have need to find out who in a 50km radius likes to ride a tractor tyre behind a boat, or wants to learn to paddle a mal.
You can thank me later.
.
^^^ Closer to the mark then you probably think Mark... (From someone who's developed an app and made all of $4.75)![]()

^^ Than you think. Not "then" you think. Unless you put your mouth into gear, then you think. Then then is good. Pet peeve, sorry. Carry on.

Yeah we all have one of them, and that is yours.. Spelling, grammar and syntax was never one of my strong points. But hey, I've managed to get by..
I do like your analogy though. For the first time in 40 years, the penny finally dropped. Let's just see if I remember it in the morning ![]()
