New Hot Sails Maui

Brand: Hot Sails Maui

Model: 2008 FIRE
Category: Wave

Ideal Conditions: On shore, Side Shore, Off Shore
Designer: Tom Hammerton

The Fire is a progressive six batten wave sail with a stable draft forward profile. This fast and dynamic wave sail has been engineered to perform in all wave sailing conditions from on shore to off shore winds.

The Fire has an almost transparent feeling in your hands yet still has loads of low-end power and a direct responsive power-band. This sail has a slightly softer feeling than the hardest most direct sails available on the market, which accentuates the smooth maneuverable performance that Hot Sails Maui is well known for?Built to Handle!

The Fire sets a new standard for hard-core wave sails. Unparalleled performance and handling empowers the sailor to attack the waves with vertical aggression and radical moves.

The Fire features:

MNX5 ?Diamond ply? coloured x-ply with 90 degree 1000 denier yarns and scrim.
Twaron re-enforced C751 x-ply with 60 degree 1000 denier yarns exclusive to HSM.

Durable 7-mil monofilm window for excellent visibility.

All HSM seams are glued and taped for maximum strength ? even the ones you can?t see (our competitors don?t tape seams that are under batten pockets).
Double sided patches and plys for superior strength. All edges are hemmed for strength and to prevent fraying.

The fan patch clew efficiently distributes loads while staying lightweight.
Dual stainless steel pressed clew rings allow for three different clew heights and can be used to adjust the lower leech tension.

New HSM designed tack pulley made with superior 316 stainless steel that won?t rust in salt water (unlike our competitors 304 stainless) and brass pulley wheels. This is a significantly stronger pulley than any other on the market.

Super strong vinyl-ester rod battens with tapers ground to individual specifications for each sail. Each size of every sail has it?s own set of six custom tapered battens designed to exactly match the sail shape. The battens and the sail shape work together to provide maximum stability.

The clew is high and the foot scooped out to provide maximum maneuverability.
Super heavy duty woven foot panel can handle maximum abuse. This material can be crushed folded and wrinkled without being damaged ? perfect for super tweaked ariels! The full length soft neoprene skid pad protects your legs in these tweaked maneuvers.

Our mast sleeve is made with our exclusive Ox Webbing leading edge and a combination of woven cloth sides triple stitched together. The mast sleeve is immensely strong and resistant to abrasion ? a rock trip or a broken mast does not necessarily mean a damaged sail!

The sail shaping has been developed as a complete integrated system of tension mapping. Our shaping has been created using special curvature analysis tools to ensure the correct tension gradients and maximum performance. The end result is an unparalleled wrinkle free sail platform.

The advanced luff curve and shaping combination creates a very dynamic sail with a soft feel but instant response. The sail powers up quickly pumps very well and will have you planning effortlessly.

The scalloped leech and mini-battens eliminate most leech flutter.

Real sail makers leather protection is found at the end of each batten pocket as well as encasing the top of the mast sleeve. The organic nature of the leather provides far longer lasting protection than any synthetic material. The leather has the ability to absorb reef scrapes whilst plastics tend to tear or peal off in chunks after minor damage.

The sail is designed to allow a wide range of rig tuning to enlarge the performance envelope and cover all sailing conditions.

The profile and head shape have been developed for maximum aerodynamic advantage. The reduced length head batten facilitates better mid-leech twist and resists backwinding and buffeting at maximum loading.

Although developed for the ultimate performance on a Hot Rod Big Wave RDM mast, this sail will still perform using other high carbon content RDM masts and SDM masts
