Your chance to get involved in the SUP movie scene

Ever wanted to be involved in making a stand up paddling movie? Well now you’ve got the chance to be a part of the sequel to Stand Up Paddlings most watched documentary, appropriately named: A Stand Up Paddle Movie.

Jeff Vasquez and a few of his mates from California are getting back on the horse for round two next year, but they need your help to fund the project! You’ve probably heard of Kickstarter by now, it’s a crowd funding website that facilitates thousands of people all funding a project by making a donation of as little as $1, usually in return for a copy of the DVD or whatever the project is for. It’s taking the world by storm and there’s been several massive projects that simply wouldn’t have gotten off the ground without the website.

So here’s the plan for this movie. Jeff is going back on the road, and this time he’s taking the likes of Colin McPhillips, Candice Appelby, Patrice Chanzy, Brennan Rose and Daniel Hughes. These Californian paddlers all starred in the original movie, and are also contributing to the funding by offering one-on-one skills clinics with contributors, (unfortunately only in the US) at the cost of $200 each. But you don’t have to contribute that much to the project, A pledge of $20 will get you a surf hat with the film logo all over it, and $30 will get you a pre-release copy of the movie once it’s finished. Or, $3000 and you can travel with the crew for a week of filming! Right now it's in the very early stages of funding, they need some donations to get the ball rolling!

Are you keen to help these guys out to make another great stand up paddling movie? The last one: A Stand Up Paddling Movie was a first class production that is a must watch for any stand up paddler. If you havn’t seen it yet, make sure you grab a copy next time you’re in your local stand up paddling shop.

Check out the promo video and hear from the guys making this movie themselves. We’re looking forward to see whether this movie comes to fruition and whether Kickstarter could be the thing that gets proper surf movies back into production!
