Some people just have that familiarity about them that draws you in, and makes you feel as though you'd known them all your life. Frank Perna is one such guy, and if you listen to his wise words we can almost guarantee that you'll emerge a better surfer (and person) because of it. 

Frank's 73 years young (as they say). He's in the ocean every day, drawing strength and life from it, so if you looked at the guy you wouldn't pick him for a day over 60. The guy can surf too, granted he's not the next Kelly Slater, but we reckon if Kelly can surf half as good as this guy when he's over 70, he should be pretty happy with himself.

One little comment that stood out was this: 
"Every wave is an experience... A wave could be friendly, or a wave could be trouble! It all depends on where you are when the wave hits, and where you are when you finish."

Wise words from a guy who'd know. Pick your waves better, and learn when to quit. Check out the video below and next time you hit the beach, take a few of Frank's words on board.
