Winter SUP Sessions at Double Island Point
Not much of a secret spot anymore...
Never been? It's an incredible place, just far enough out of reach to remain somewhat of a secret spot to the average beach goer, but of course every surfer, stand up paddler and 4wd enthusiast knows about it. The waves wrap perfectly around a rocky point, and then break almost a kilometre down the beach to join up with Rainbow Beach. The catch? Occasionally it's really small. Like 'half shin height' small.
Not that this lot cared. Join Piros and the crew for their crazy roadtrip down Teewah beach, over the access track and then out to DI. While the swell was small, they had a great time and proved to us all that you don't need much swell to have a great time when you have boards, paddles and your mates. Oh, and an incredible location helps too.
Check out the video and next time you're up in QLD with a 4wd handy, go and check out Double Island Point.
