Vandals target Noosa Stand Up Paddle School

Noosa Stand Up Paddle
There's been some fishy things going on since the Sunshine coast council awarded only one permit for a Stand Up Paddle operator in Noosa. Vandals have targeted Noosa Stand up Paddle with an ongoing string of alleged damage and harassment.

Rick and Donalee Halkett of Noosa Stand Up Paddle believe someone is out to get them, because they won the only council tender to operate a stand up paddle business in Noosa.

Last weekend, vandals threw a seven kilo rock through the back window of their work van, causing thousands of dollars damage, this was the last straw for the couple, who are now seeking legal advice and security consultants.

Last summer, the several Stand up paddle hire/school operators were culled to just one. This decision is widely considered to be one of the more "interesting" in the Sunshine Coast Councils history, totally eliminating competition and choice from the area.

Rick and Donalee have not been deterred by the vandalism.

"Donalee, despite these trials and intimidation, is deeply committed to continuing her passion to continue stand up paddleboarding,” said her husband, Rick.

The Noosa police are on it - a spokeswoman said they knew of the complaints and they are all being investigated on their individual merits. Lets hope they get to the bottom of it all.
