Travis Grant wins Molokai to Oahu Challenge

Terrene Black makes a dash for the finish
It’s that time of year again and the M20 (Molokai to Oahu) challenge is on again. The biggest long distance race in stand up paddling, the Molokai to Oahu concept is easy, you start at Molokai, paddle to Oahu and the first across the line is the winner.

Along with the stand up paddle boards, there’s also prone paddle boards to add to the mix. While many of the prone paddlers have switched to SUP, there’s of course all the clubbies and the guys who prefer pure man power, these guys still absolutely crank across the passage and are great to watch.

So, Travis Grant. Our home-grown Aussie paddling machine has beaten the masters of SUP: Connor Baxter and Kai Lenny over the line by quite a margin! Winning by a whopping 10 minutes over Scott Gamble, Travis did us proud and proved that even the locals are no match for pure Aussie determination…

In the womens fleet, Terrene Black put in an incredible performance with a time of 5:40:40 (40mins behind Travis). The next female paddler was 5 minutes behind, Jennifer Kalmbach is also a local from Kailua, so the feat is nothing to be scoffed at!

You can check out the full list of results here on the M20 Website, and stay tuned to see all the videos, photos and promo gear to emerge as everyone gets home from the event.
