Remember a few weeks back Kai Lenny had his foot chopped by his stand up paddle board while he was trying to surf some massive waves at Jaws on Maui?

Well we saw the pictures, we saw him get lifted up into a helicopter. But we never saw the gorey details. Wonder no more paddlers! We have such gorey details now, and there’s even some board carnage in this video to keep you entertained.

Kai Lenny posted a sneak preview of his upcoming episode of Positively Kai (maybe, he hashtagged it #positivelykai anyway) on Facebook today which included a couple of heavy wipeouts, an anihilated board and best of all, the whopping great gash between his toes which required him to be airlifted out of the lineup, complete with blood literally spraying out of his leg on the way up. The swell size is very close to the biggest ever paddled into with a stand up paddle board, so Kai was really going for it on a tiny Naish board. Unfortunately it met its demise in the same wipeout that cut his foot, so at the end of the day everything was broken. Kai says it was worth it though, we’ll have to wait until he released the full episode on the day to hear the full story.
