The Mandurah Duel - A SUP battle between the ocean & estuary
The Mandurah Duel - on next weekend.
It might not actually be that serious, but it's certainly a great concept. The Mandurah Duel is taking place next weekend on the 15th of January in Mandurah, Western Australia and for the first time is holding a division specifically for stand up paddlers.
The unique event goes like this; there's two start lines, one way out in the ocean, and one inland via some kind of estuary. They're both the same distance apart, and the courses meet in the middle of the bay. First one to get to the middle wins - and takes home a pretty decent amount of prize money too!
Other prizes on offer include a Coreban 12'6 Race board, just for entering the race (you've got to be at the presentation to win it though!) and various other goodies ilke Mandurah River cruises and Seabreeze.com.au merchandise.
Check back after the event for the results and of course pictures from the event, and for live updates check out the event Facebook page here.
