The Chicago World Series - the usual story

The Chicago World Series...
Yet again this year it's a case of the Lenny and Baxter story, but how long will they last?

Aussie paddlers are bringing up the rear in stop six of the Chicago World Series this week, with Jake Jenson standing in third place on the podium after day one, and Paul Jackson coming in just behind in 6th place.

The Chicago stop is tipped to be one of the biggest events of the world tour all year, thanks to it being so close to a major city and easily accessible for both paddlers and spectators. Day one proved the theory with countless people lining the beach and a packed lineup of paddlers, all going hard for points.

In the end it was Baxter who won the racing over Lenny, Connor put in a last ditch effort to snatch the win in the final moments of the day, although Kai spent most of the racing in front. Also noted was Jake Jensen, who was apparently one of the strongest off the line all day, and even Paul Jackson got a mention for being so incredibly consistent.

For the ladies, Angie Jackson again had to settle for second like she did in Hamburg last week, losing to Annabel Anderson from New Zealand. Next race keep an eye on Angie, because after following Annabel for so many races, she's sure to out for blood and paddling at 110%.

There's still a few days left of the Chicago World Series, so stay tuned for the reports, results and images from the event.
