Star studded lineup in Mauritius hits a rare point break

Keahi showing off to the locals
Once or twice a year in Mauritius, a little known place called Tamarin Bay breaks down both sides, throwing out 8-10 foot peelers with both a left and a right.

The catch is, you can't surf the left... Not because it closes out, or it's too fast, or it's too sucky etc. Simply because the locals won't let you. And that's just surfing, god help you if you paddled out on a SUP! But no matter, the right is just as good, albeit a little smaller at only 8 ft. So when the JP Australia crew paddled out, it made for one heck of a show with Keahi De Aboitiz, Dave Kalama and Hudson Godfrey-Smith absolutely going nuts on super short SUPS. They had it to themselves for a while too, and then they noticed a few guys paddle out who seemed strangely familiar.

Turns out is was the Ozone kiteboarding crew. Andy Yates, Torrin Bright and Robby Whittall got stuck into the conditions and before you knew it, buckets were being thrown, boards were punting off lips left right and center, and it became one of the best showdowns of all time. Those lucky enough to witness it got a real show, as did the guys who were fortunate enough to be in Mauritius for this very rare event.

The JP Australia and Imagine guys are all in town for the 2014 dealer conference at Le Morne, Mauritius. While the testings already been done, Keahi and Dave (Kalama) are both displaying the equipment at it's full potential for the worlds dealers. Stay tuned to see what all the new gear is like, because there's some pretty exciting stuff to come!
