Sailfish caught on Stand Up Paddle board in the USA

That's a big fish for any boat, let along a SUP!
It's hard enough trying to cast a rod from a stand up paddle board, let alone land a Sailfish! Not to mention paddle the thing back for 6 miles on the nose of your board, while sharks circle and the light fades.

Lance Moss was fishing in a local compeition, entered in the SUP only division, when he paddled with his mate offshore looking for 'the big one'. Well, they found it! After standing amongst spinner sharks and some seriously bloody water, Lance hooked the Sailfish and began the long and slow catch, towing him directly offshore for an extra 4 miles, it was eventually reeled in and strapped to the nose of his board.

Then, while their mates half heartedly searched for them closer to shore, the boys began the 6 mile paddle back to the weighing dock. Greeted by a crowd of enthusiastic fishermen (and women, is there a name for that?) he was the clear winner of the competition, taking home a new SUP and some serious bragging rights!

The sport of SUP fishing is catching on pretty quick, with new wide boards on the market and wider appeal to new paddlers, this record stands to be broken pretty soon! But what will be next? A Great White?
