SUP Vic puts on an awesome weekend

Mmmmm, shiny new boards to try....
What was it? Well it was kind of a demoey social get together thing based at the SUPVic house. Supported by the usuals - SHQ, RPS and the new guys on the block (for SUP anyway) Zaks, there was a whole stack of boards available to demo, from tiny little Starboards up to 12 foot + Corebans.

The conditions really turned it on for Saturday, with blue skies, clear water and fun waves for all skill levels. Many paddlers had never ventured into the waves before, most caught a couple of decent lumps each and emerged from the water with massive grins and no battle scars, addicted to their new found way to ride. For the experienced riders, there were still fun waves on offer, with a few shoulder high sets rolling through amidst the knee-waist high cruisers. Small waves didn't mean lack of fun though, everyone was bustin' out the old school moves all day and testing new boards.

After the paddling was over, everyone headed back to the SUPVic house for a BBQ, no doubt telling stories of 'that' wave nobody saw. Everyone was stoked after a perfect day of surfing, what a shame its winter now and things are getting a bit chilly.

This goes down as one of the classic SUP photos ... :-)
