The SUP Australia National SUP Titles are being held on 26-29 April 2012 at Newcastle, NSW.
 
Australia’s best suppers will contest it out over a range of SUP events for flat water racing, downwind racing, and sup surfing.
 
The Titles will be hosted by the Newcastle Stand Up Paddle Club. 
 
Exhibitors will also be showcasing their boards and equipment and related products. There will be free board testing, free learn to SUP sessions, event t-shirt for competitors and give-ways.
 
 
SUP Surfing 
 
26-27 April.  SUP Surfing, Dixon Park, Newcastle
The event is held over 2 days.  Round 1 qualifying event is open to everyone.  First to pay, first to play.
NSW and QLD finalists will automatically go into Round 2.  Vacant positions will be filled by the next best semi finalists.    
 
SUP Downwind Race 10 km
Saturday 28 April 2012.
 
The event location, with exhibitors and finish line, will depend on the conditions on the day.  It can be either:
* Blacksmith Beach
* Speers Point on Lake Macquarie.  (backup location)
* Redhead Beach  (backup location)
 
Course:   
Start: Redhead Beach to Blacksmith Beach (10 km) (north-east wind)
OR
Start: Blacksmith Beach to Redhead Beach (10 km) (southerly wind)
OR
If the conditions are not suitable, race will be held on Lake Macquarie:
Start: Swansea to Speers Point (12 kms)
 
 
SUP Flat Water Races 6km and 1500 metres

Held over one day within the calm waters of Throsby Creek.
 
Program - Flat Water Long Course Race (6 kms)
1 lap.  1 race.   All classes and divisions race together.  5 minute staggered starts for each class.
8.00 am  Registration
8.30 am Safety briefing
9.00 am  Start.
 
Program - Flat Water Short Course (1500 metres)
4 separate races.  1 lap. 
Safety briefing all races:  11 am.
Race 1:  11.30 pm 14' & over unlimited
Race 2:  12.15 pm 14' & under (fixed fins)
Race 3:  1.00 pm 12'6" class
Race 4:  1.45 pm  12' & under (non race board)
Presentations:  3.00 pm
