Paddle for Prostate Cancer - Cook Challenge this Weekend!

A great event for a great cause, be there!
Each year in Australia close to 3,300 men die of prostate cancer – equal to the number of women who die from breast cancer annually. It's a shocking statistic, and Chris Carter has been on a mission since his own close call a couple of years ago.

The Paddle for Prostate is about spreading awareness of the disease, and raising money to assist research towards a cure through paddling related fundraising. The boys have done a great job on Facebook so far, but now it's time for some serious action in the Cook Island Challenge this weekend.

For the stand up paddlers, there's a battle of the paddle style event on the 8th September. Meanwhile the OC1, 2 and 6, plus paddleboards and surf ski's will be heading out around the island which is around 8km away. Entry fee is $65, and 100% of that goes to charity of course. Thats not all though, after racing hit the bare foot bar, BBQ and grab a few raffle tickets to win a brand new Jamie Mitchell SUP board.

It's all happening off Kingscliff surf club this Saturday the 8th September. Be there from 7.30am and hang around all day for the live music after the events finished. To register, hit the facebook page here! We'll bring you a report on the event when it's all over next week, but until then check out the facebook for live updates as they happen.
