Only a month until Power of the Paddle on the Sunny Coast
The Ocean Addicts Power of the Paddle, only a month away!
Incorporating both a Battle of the Paddle style stand up paddling race and surfing competition, as well as the huge Golden Days music festival, the concept is a real winner. So much so, that it's almost impossible to get a room for the weekend in Coolum, which is usually a pretty slow going little coastal community. Coolum is the perfect place for a BOP event, the (usually) small swell and wide open beach makes for ideal paddling conditions in a range of weather. The main street can handle the several hundred competitors and there's plenty of room for the Golden Days music festival up the road.
The Golden Days Festival has a huge lineup of world class bands on their way. Including Fat Freddy's Drop, Josh Pyke, Something for Kate and The Medics, plus a whole heap more. It's one of the highlights on the sunshines coasts music scenes, so if you're not into stand up paddling. The music festival is definitely going to be a spectacular event.
As well as the battle of the paddle style event, there's a traditional surfing competition for stand up paddlers as well. It's not all about the racing in SUP! The point break at Coolum is almost a famous as nearby First point at Noosa. And at the moment the banks off the main beach are shaping up nicely for summer.
There's not long left to enter if you havn't already! So jump online and register now or you're going to miss one of the biggest events on the east coast.
