One Million Strokes, Stand Up Paddling from Canada to Mexico
One man, with a lot of ocean behind him.
With such a huge effort, we thought we’d bring you some of the stats from the 61 day marathon (we think he was deserving of the three rest days), get ready to be blown away!
- Will paddled for 58 days, and spent 61 days on the journey.
- The journey from Canada to Mexico was 2230 kilometers in total.
- Each day, Will averaged 45km and burned almost 4000 calories.
- His best day, saw him paddle (and surf no doubt) a whopping 70km!
- Under his feet was a 16ft SIC F-16. Packed with supplies
- It’s estimated Will took over 1.1million strokes on his journey.
- Will is the first person to paddle completely unassisted from Canada to California.
- He was hoping to raise over $30,000 towards helping ex-servicemen with depression, but is only at $8,000. Help him out if you can by donating to the cause on his website.
