Strap some lights to the bottom of your board!

These guys have worked out to fit some pretty streamlined LED lights down the underside of their stand up paddle board, not so they look like street racers but so they can see! The light being bounced around in the water really brightens up your surroundings and does a perfect Jon of illuminating underwater obstacles (and critters). 

While it's 'sharkyness' is still untested, we reckon you'd be quite safe with such an alien looking thing floating around in the water. But don't quote us on that!
